FOUNDERS
Mario Gutierrez
Co-Founder & President Mario Gutierrez leads with a relationship-driven mindset and a deep understanding of construction from the ground up. Having started in residential construction early in his career, Mario built hands-on experience that shaped his practical, solutions-oriented approach to building. His background includes extensive knowledge in product selection, materials, logistics, and customer service, strengthened through industry experience with national suppliers and large scale projects. This allows Mario to effectively align quality, budget, and performance across every project. As President, Mario oversees client relationships and project delivery throughout Texas, including Houston, Dallas–Fort Worth, San Antonio, the Rio Grande Valley, and surrounding markets. He is known for going the extra mile to ensure not only that projects are executed successfully, but that clients genuinely enjoy the process. For Mario, long-term partnerships, trust, and a positive construction experience are just as important as the final result.
Susan Baca
Co-Founder & Director of Operations Susan Baca brings a deep understanding of business needs informed by experience in real estate, business development, and construction operations. Her background allows her to approach projects with a holistic perspective, considering not only execution, but how each decision supports client goals and long-term value. She has worked closely with clients on projects ranging from capital improvements to larger-scale initiatives, helping translate vision into well-executed solutions. Susan’s approach emphasizes thoughtful planning, consistency, and ensuring projects move forward smoothly from start to finish. As Co-Founder and Director of Operations, Susan is guided by the same commitment that defines American Builders- integrity, quality, and respect for each client’s investment. She is dedicated to delivering dependable outcomes that strengthen communities and reinforce long-term trust across Texas.
